We were amazed at how quick the trip was, just 42 minutes down the new freeway to within 4 minutes of Lazy River's total seclusion, and its rural peace and quiet. Superb hospitality.

This is a perfect retreat from the city life. The room makes you feel right at home and you have got to try the food. It was delicious. I would definitely go back again.

Set in a beautiful spot on the Murray River we enjoyed sitting on the verandah and admiring the bush setting in a very tranquil environment. Steve and Liz were wonderful hosts taking care of our every need. Steve's food is delicious, the canapes were enough for a meal alone and being able to dine in our cottage by candlelight was a real highlight.
Their website pretty much says it all - "unashamed luxury".

Well yes, all is true. Hosts Steve and Liz excel in the hospitality game. We arrived at Lazy River to enjoy a fine afternoon tea on the verhanda whilst watching the horses graze and a variety of birds feasting. The air is clean and sweet with a brackish tinge from the Murray River which flows nearby. Liz suggested the afternoon would be perfect to take out the kayaks and we spent a couple of hours paddling in the Murray, truly peaceful and awarded us the luxury breathing slowly and deeply.

Feeling pretty refreshed we opted for a quick game of tennis before returning to the cottage for a quick spa. Steve and Liz arrived at 6 pm with a fantastic array of canapes, all local produce fine tuned by Steves gourmet abilities and a bottle of bubbles from local Skipworth Winery. A gourmet breakfast hamper is also provided lavishly stocked with tasty treats to see you well into the next day. Additionally a fruit bowl is provided on arrival.

An hour or so later Steve & Liz are back and serve a three course meal. The meal option can be organised prior to arrival and the exceptional standard reflects the Swiss training Steve has received.

Lazy River exceeds in all areas of hospitality. Thank you both for a wonderful gourmet experience and also your generous and warm company. See you again in the near future.

TIP: The Skipworth Wine Company is located just south of Lazy River in Yarloop. Well worth a visit for tastings and cellar sales. Owner Kim Skipworth also offers free delivery to Perth Metro area once a week and has some great wines at excellent prices. Wonderful opportunity to support the smaller boutique wine industry!

“Dolphin friendly!” - MarluPerth

What an amazing weekend we've just had at Lazy River B B&B! Absolute relaxation and luxury but more than that - the magical experience of getting into a kayak on the river as 3 dolphins forged by on a fishing mission, pushing up a wave and blowing bubbles to scare the unsuspecting fish. I have to say we were a bit surprised to see dolphins too. Wow. Very happy campers who look forward to treating ourselves to another stay - even without the dolphins the food, setting, room, champagne, food, hospitality, afternoon cakes, peace and quiet was terrific.

Read the good reviews so had high expectations and we were certainly not disappointed. Arrived to friendly welcome from Liz. Rooms large and well appointed with 4 poster and great spa. Had a paddle on the river in the kayaks and a quick game of tennis, ready for the 6pm champagne and fantastic plate of canapes delivered to our verandah by Steve and Liz. Then followed a superb 3 course meal that would fill even the hungriest of people! A beautiful nights sleep on the wonderful bed was followed by another quick paddle before refuelling with the incredible breakfast hamper. A wonderful night away, just wish we could have stayed longer.

Steve and Liz - we will definitely be back!

The highlight of this weekend away was definitely the personalised food service provided by Steve and Liz. The hosts were very friendly and provided a very professional service... We had never stayed anywhere where the owners contacted us prior to arrival to ask what we wanted for dinner... Steve is a master chef!

Of course there was plenty to do other than eating. The setting in Pinjarra is very original, isolated and quiet. The rooms were luxurious and big, with a great verandah to watch the horses walk by. There were also plenty of activities to do like walking and canoeing on the river, however we spent most of the weekend just relaxing and enjoying the peace:-) A great weekend escape that is close to Perth.
Steve - you will have to send us the recipe for your lemon tiramisu!

If a stunning setting, quiet surrounds, beautiful views, luxurious accommodation, five star food and hosts that make sure every attention to detail is spot on then Lazy River awaits you. This is our second stay and whilst we only manage a quick night away from our two young children we always leave feeling like it's been longer. The super comfy bed and bed linen has to have something to do with the luxurious sleep we always get. My husband & I recommend this beautiful boutique B&B to anyone wanting to take some time out and be spoilt rotten. Just a short stroll down the road is a lovely winery called Raven Wines that offers some beautiful wines and also has a very trendy restaurant that opens during the day. Of course though, for the whole complete Lazy River indulgence you simply can't go past Steve's dinner menu...you choose the menu and then it's all delieverd by golf cart to your door. Dine outside under the stars or inside it's up to you? Liz sets up a romantic table complete with candle, linen and fine cutlery. And if that wasn't enought, awaiting you in the morning is a "to die for" breakfast basket and breakfast food in the fridge. You will certianly be not leaving hungry that's for sure.
Liz & Steve, we love your beautiful B&B and can't wait for our annual escape again next year... you are the perfect hosts and we love our chats with you both. A new bonus is that with new freeway it's only a quick 40 min drive, we couldn't ask for more!
