Activities in and around Pinjarra 
Pinjarra is one of the oldest towns in Western Australia, founded in 1834 by Sir Thomas Peel. The town boasts many fine examples of our early heritage, typified by the Old Court House and Old Post Office in George Street which is the main thoroughfare and continuance of the South West Highway. Also located in this area are St John’s Church, the Old Schoolhouse and Edenvale, a huge gracious dwelling of 18 rooms originally the home of Edward McLarty.
The historic site of the infamous Pinjarra Massacre of 1834 is really excellent and well worth a visit. You can download details of the massacre from www.pinjarramassacre.com.au
Just a stone’s throw south is the famous Old Blythewood, the home of John McLarty, built in 1860. North of Pinjarra is the Fairbridge settlement that was established as a farm school for British orphan children in 1912.
Peel Zoo is within walking distance. The zoo provides a hands on experience for its visitors. It is a privately funded zoo, focusing on education and conservation, and a wonderful place to spend a day. The zoo is constantly expanding, taking on more animals, and working with the community to protect and conserve local wildlife. The zoo has a new veterinary hospital, programs for children, breeding programs for various animals, and is a sanctuary for wildlife in the peel region. For more information visit www.peelzoo.com
Mandurah
We are located just 15 minutes from the busy seaside town of Mandurah. Here there are a host of activities on offer. There are several boutique shops, galleries and restaurants on the Foreshore. Mandurah being both on the Peel Estuary and besides the ocean offers boat and fishing charters, crabbing, canoeing and dolphin sightseeing excursions and many more. You can even experience the sensation of walking on water without getting wet at Aqua Bubble, or take an exhilarating boat ride on the Marine Extreme Performance boat tours, hire Jet Skis, or take a relaxing luncheon cruise.
Dwellingup
The picturesque town of Dwellingup, located up in hills of the Darling Range, offers a very different experience. Just 20 minutes away, Dwellingup is nestled in the jarrah forests on the Murray River and has become one of the principal playgrounds for adventure and outdoor recreation in the region. These include canoeing, white-water rafting and sky-diving to name just a few. Canoes are available for hire in Dwellingup. Or you can hop aboard the famous Hotham Valley Train for a train ride through peaceful hills and forest scenery. Walk a section of the long distance Bibbulmun Track, starting or ending in Dwellingup.

Raven Wines is on our doorstep! Just a 2 minute walk to this award winning winery that also offers an excellent snack selection and premium beers. Skipworth Winery
The Skipworth Winery is an award-winning boutique vineyard located 20 minutes away on Hoffman Road in Yarloop, just off the South-West Highway.
The vineyard is located on the edge of the Darling Scarp, offering picturesque views through the abundant Jarrah and Karri trees on the property across to the coast.
Kim Skipworth, who has been involved in the winemaking industry in Western Australia for more than fifteen years, started this winery and since acquiring the property, Kim has constructed the Cellar Door and Winery as well as planting the many acres of vines. Millbrook Winery
Millbrook Winery is another boutique winery situated in the historic town of Jarradhale which is about half an hour from us on the South-West Highway. The winery is located at picturesque Chestnut Farm nestled among virgin jarrah forests with stunning vistas of the rolling landscape.
The origins of Chestnut Farm date back to the nineteenth century when the original owner, Joseph Batt, planted an orchard and the first grapevines in 1860, providing fruit and a few headaches to the local timber-millers in Jarrahdale.
